The CDC recommends physical activity for all age groups. Whether you are between the ages of 6 to 17, 18 to 64, or 65 and older, “regular physical activity helps improve your overall health and fitness.”
Children in the first mentioned age group should exercise for at least one hour per day. Aerobic activity like biking or running, or muscle strengthening like gymnastics or pushups can increase your child’s health. Adults mentioned in the second age group need between 1 hour and 15 minutes to 2 hours and 30 minutes of exercise per day. The more strenuous the exercise, the less time you must workout. Muscle strengthening and aerobic activity should be accomplished at least two times per week. Adults fitting into the third age group should attempt the same routine as the second group, except in 10 minute increments.
Visit the CDC website for specific information about your physical fitness. For information about your TriBridge Residential community fitness center, call your TriBridge Residential community office or visit the Our Communities tab on the TriBridge Residential blog.
