Earth Day is coming on April 22nd! To celebrate, we’ve decided to share some of our favorites way you can to go green in your TriBridge Residential apartment, courtesy of Green Living Apartments:
- Swap out your incandescent bulbs. If you’re still using incandescents in your apartment, consider making the switch to compact fluorescent (CLF) bulbs. They use %66 less electricity and they last longer!
- Wash your clothes in cold water. Roughly 80% of the power used by your washing machine goes towards heating the water. That means you use a mere 20% of the electricity when washing your clothes in cold water.
- Be sure to recycle your electronics. Many electronics (including cell phones, computer, and TVs) contain toxic materials that can leach into the environment if not properly disposed of. Plus, recycling is always better than sending more waste to our landfills! To find a location to recycle your old electronics near your apartment, visit Plug-In to eCycling with the EPA.
